INTRO TO SEWING + THE MACHINE

Never sewn before? No problem! Join us for a relaxed, beginner-friendly evening at Solemar Studio where you’ll learn introductory  sewing techniques and how to use a machine, and leave with your own pillowcase — no experience necessary.

In this beginner-friendly upcycling workshop, we’ll teach you all the sewing basics including: 

• A guided introduction to your sewing machine
• Step-by-step instruction on threading the machine and winding/inserting a bobbin
• Foundational sewing techniques designed to build confidence and comfort at the machine
• Basic stitches : Zig Zag + Straight Stitch! 
  
• Practice Stitches on scrap fabric.
• Project: Make a pillow case!

This class is perfect for beginners wanting to learn how to operate and feel comfortable on a machine, or anyone who wants to dip their toes into sewing! 

During this 2.5-hour workshop, we’ll teach you foundational sewing techniques, basic machine functions and guide you in making a pillowcase to take home.
